Man robs cleaning business with knife

Police said the man fought an elderly female employee and forced her to open the register.

Police from the 2nd District are looking for a suspect in a commercial robbery on Oxford Avenue.

An unknown male carrying a large knife entered King and Author’s cleaning business, located at 6415 Oxford Ave., at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8. Police described the suspect as either Hispanic or black.

Police said when a 74-year-old female employee could not open the register, the suspect fought her. The offender forced her to open the register and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The surveillance video shows the suspect fighting a male employee who had attempted to leave through the front door. The suspect grabbed the male, pulled him back inside the store and pushed him across the store into the desk.

Police describe the suspect as being 30 to 35 years old with a light complexion. He is between 5-feet-9 and 5-feet-11 with a stocky build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a light gray hood and sleeves, blue jeans and white sneakers.
